Law, Security and the Changing World
About the Blog
This website is a personal space for analysis and reflection on the relationship between law, power and security in international affairs. Its starting point is international and European Union law, although many of the challenges facing states and societies today call for a broader perspective that also takes politics, economics and technology into account.
The blog explores developments in national and international security, addressing issues such as defence and intelligence, economic sanctions, international trade, foreign investment screening, technological sovereignty, energy and artificial intelligence. Articles often draw on legislation, judicial decisions, official documents and recent research to examine the meaning of political and legal decisions and their practical implications.
Alongside legal analysis, the blog includes more personal reflections on academia, research, public debate and social change. It is a place to share ideas, questions and perspectives, including on issues for which straightforward answers are difficult to find.
Posts are published in Italian and, increasingly, in English.
